Are you intrigued by the idea of pole fitness but worried that you need to be strong to start? Great news – you don’t need any strength to begin! Our job is to make you strong. With our unique pole program, The epYc Method, you'll notice a significant change in your strength after just five weeks of attending once a week. Of course, the more frequently you attend, the better your progress.
Getting Started: Strength Is Not a Pre-requisite
Many people ask me, "What should I do to get better at pole?" My answer is simple: do pole. But it’s not just about practicing any move; it’s about focusing on the right exercises. As an absolute beginner, your main goal should be to develop a good grip and build upper body strength. Don't rush into complex moves like inverts or load up on knee tucks, leg raises, and pull-ups before you have the basics down. Your initial focus should be on your arm, shoulder and grip strength.
Intermediate Level: Enhancing Your Practice
If you're committed to pole fitness and have reached the intermediate level, it’s time to incorporate additional practices into your routine. At this stage, I recommend adding yoga or regular stretching to your regimen. Mobility and flexibility become crucial as you advance in pole fitness. Now, you can start working on more than just basic strength, exploring more complex moves and transitions.
There are many sports that can complement your pole fitness journey, such as weightlifting, rock climbing, or ballet. If you’ve already dedicated time to these activities, you’ve laid a solid foundation for pole fitness. These sports enhance your strength, coordination, and flexibility, all of which are beneficial for pole dancing.
Key Advice for Beginner Pole Dancers
