Eve's Diary: 6 Tips That Boosted My Pole Journey (and Will Boost Yours Too)

Updated: Sep 8

Welcome to the very first entry in my new blog series, Eve’s Diary. This is where I’ll be sharing my personal experiences — the lessons I’ve learned from my own pole and yoga journey, the challenges I’ve faced, and the tips that have helped both me and my students along the way.

I want this space to feel honest, practical, and encouraging — like we’re having a chat after class. Whether you’re a brand-new beginner or an experienced poler, I hope these diary entries give you insight, motivation, and little boosts of confidence for your own journey.

And to kick things off, I’m sharing 6 tips that boosted my pole journey (and will boost yours too).

When I first started pole fitness, I didn’t have much of a fitness background. I wasn’t flexible, I didn’t have much muscle mass, and I was honestly just tiny and unsure of myself. But pole changed everything for me.

Over the years, I’ve learned a lot—both through my own journey and by teaching so many amazing clients. So here are my top tips that made a huge difference for me (and I know they’ll help you too).

1. Consistency is everything

This may sound obvious, but showing up matters more than anything. Even if you can only make it once a week, stay consistent. Progress in pole doesn’t come from doing a ton in a short burst—it comes from steady, regular practice. Don’t skip sessions, and give it your best every time.

2. Train with structure

When I started, I naturally had a sense of structure. I never just did “whatever I felt like”—I had a plan. That structure is what allowed me to grow steadily and avoid wasting time.

The good news? At epYc I take that pressure off you. I’ve designed a structured program especially for pole dancers—perfect for beginners who are new to this world and want clear guidance toward their goals.

3. Mobility + active flexibility = game changers

Pole requires a mix of strength, flexibility, and mobility. You need all three to truly progress.

For me, starting yoga was the turning point. Without it, I wouldn’t be where I am today. That’s why I teach pole and yoga hand in hand (yes, you can join me online too 😉).

Together, they help you build a strong, supple, and mobile body that feels good both on and off the pole.

4. Don’t try to change everything overnight

Pole is exciting—and it’s easy to want to go all in. But real results don’t come in a week. You don’t need to turn your life upside down; you just need to stay consistent.

Schedule your training, add it to your calendar, and stick to it. Even just 1–2 hours a week will add up to amazing progress if you keep going.

5. Listen to your body

This one took me a while to learn. Your body will always tell you when it needs a break. Overtraining won’t take you further—it will only lead to injuries.

Remember: not every session has to be high intensity. Recovery days, gentle mobility work, or light training are just as important. And if you’re training hard, make sure you support yourself with proper food and sleep.

6. Nutrition and sleep are non-negotiable

I can’t stress this enough: if you want to grow, you have to fuel your body. So many times, I’ve had clients turn up after not eating all day or only sleeping a couple of hours—and then wondering why they felt weak.

Good sleep and proper nutrition aren’t “extras.” They’re part of your training. Treat them like they matter, because they absolutely do.

These are the general principles that shaped my journey and continue to shape my teaching. I’ll be diving deeper into each of these points in future posts to give you even more tools to succeed in your pole journey.

Until then—stay consistent, train smart, and listen to your body.

With love,

Your pole mother 💜

Eve 😏🤩
