Client Spotlight: Molly

We love celebrating the incredible journeys of our community, and this month’s Client Spotlight shines on Molly, who joined epYc in the summer of 2021.

What started as a way to get out of the house after lockdown has grown into a true passion — one that Molly “bloody loves” 🫶

✨ Meet Molly

Molly, 27, trains across our Pontypool, Monmouth and Blackwood studios.

She first came to epYc looking for something fun, social and active that wasn’t running or the gym:

“I wanted to get strong and healthy but also find a hobby, meet people, and get out of the house after lockdown. Now it’s turned into a real passion I can’t go without.”

💪 Her Journey with epYc

Like many beginners, Molly found her first class daunting. She remembers feeling weak and nervous during a flow session:

“Everyone else could pick themselves up into a little squat and I couldn’t even do that. But everyone cheered me on and made me feel like I’d accomplished something — even though I had no strength whatsoever.”

That encouragement kept her coming back, and since then Molly has grown from nervous beginner to a confident regular, now training 2 pole classes and 1–2 yoga classes every week.

🌸 Favourite Tricks and Class

Molly’s favourite is pole fitness — especially when the routine features one of her favourite moves. She loves the teamwork that happens in class and the chance to encourage newer students:

“It’s fun when someone is working on a similar thing and you can work together on it. I also love talking to the newbies and reassuring them — if they think they’re bad, I was worse 😂.”

Her favourite trick is the extended butterfly, a move that showcases her strength and sets her up for her dream goal: the ayesha.

“I can’t believe I can hold myself up with just my hands and one little cupped foot. It looks gorgeous in a picture too!”

🚀 Biggest Achievements

Molly is proud of how much her body and confidence have transformed since joining epYc:

“My body has changed completely and I’m always amazed how strong I’ve become without it ever feeling like a slog. I love going, I get upset when I can’t, and I feel so proud of how far I’ve come. I think I can say I’m quite good now — which is such a feat for such a tough sport 💪.”

💬 In Her Own Words

“My general fitness has improved so much for my walking and canoeing adventures. Yoga has helped my wellbeing and even fixed my back pain, which I now realise was from weak core strength and bad posture.
My confidence has grown too — I’ve met so many people between the studios, trained with amazing pole gals, and slowly needed to wear less clothes 😂. I’m more confident now than I’ve ever been and believe in myself more when trying new things.”

🌟 Final Thoughts

To anyone nervous about starting pole or yoga, Molly’s advice is simple:

“Even if it’s just one session, have a go. I only intended to do a three-week course and nearly four years later I’m flipping upside down multiple times a week and even showing off tricks in photoshoots.”

We’re so proud of Molly’s journey — a true reminder of what’s possible when you start small, stay consistent, and keep showing up.
