Client Spotlight: Leah

This month, we’re shining the spotlight on Leah, who joined epYc in November 2022 and has built a strong, confident pole practice through consistency, self-belief, and community support.

Leah’s journey is a powerful reminder that progress is not always linear and that choosing to come back can be just as important as starting.

🌸 Meet Leah

Leah, 24, trains across at our Pontypool studio. She first became interested in pole after seeing inspiring videos online and wanting a hobby that felt good, improved her fitness, and did not involve the gym, which she never really enjoyed.

“I wanted a hobby that made me feel great but also improved my fitness. I never really enjoyed the gym and always fell out of it, so I wanted to try something new.”

💪 Her Journey with epYc

Like many people starting something new, Leah remembers feeling extremely nervous in her first class.

“Very nervous. I remember sweating from the nerves! I started at Level 1 and looking back I wish I had joined a beginner course to help build my confidence, but I still would not change my journey for the world.”

What made the biggest difference was the supportive environment created by instructors and fellow students, which helped her keep coming back.

Leah now trains one to two times per week, combining pole with yoga, something she did not do at the start but now finds incredibly beneficial.

“I am currently doing yoga, which I never used to do with pole, and I can really feel the difference it makes.”

🌸 Favourite Class and Trick

Leah’s favourite class is pole fitness, where she enjoys learning new transitions and improving the flow between movements.

“I like trying to perfect the flow of movement between tricks. It is something I am really working on.”

Her favourite trick is the ballerina, a move she never thought she would achieve.

“It is so pretty and elegant. I feel like a real-life fairy. It is a lot harder than it looks, so it is something I will continue to work on.”

🚀 Biggest Achievements

One of Leah’s proudest moments is choosing to return to pole after stepping away for a few months.

“Almost a year ago I quit for a bit because I did not feel like I was progressing. Eve told me to come back after a month and see how I felt, and I am so glad I did.”

Since returning, Leah has found a new level of consistency and has seen huge improvements in both strength and flow.

“I am now much more consistent than I used to be and have noticed a big improvement in my overall flow and strength.”

💬 In Her Own Words

“Pole has helped me build so much more confidence in everyday life. I believe I can do so much more than when I first started. I have also gained a whole new community of gorgeous polers. I do not think I would be as happy or motivated if I had not started pole.”

And for anyone feeling nervous about trying pole or yoga for the first time:

“Rip the bandaid off. I put it off for so long because I was nervous, and I wish I had started sooner. Everyone learns at a different pace, so do not compare yourself to others. Your journey is unique.”

🌟 Final Thoughts

Leah’s story is a beautiful example of resilience, growth, and trusting the process. Her journey shows that with support, patience, and consistency, real progress follows.

We are so proud of how far you have come, Leah 💚
